Darent Country ParkAfter moving to the area six months ago I finally got the chance to visit one of the local country parks for a winter stroll. Darenth Country Park is a wonderfully varied site with paddocks, woodland, orchards, a chestnut walk, sculptures and a cemetery.

Shorne Woods Country Park

The fabulous weather this weekend was been much appreciated and we finally got the chance to explore Shorne Woods Country Park in Kent. The Park offers 288 acres of ancient broadleaved woodland, wetlands, sweet chestnut coppice and open grassland with a wide variety of trails to suit everyone.  The heritage of the area includes clay pit industry, remnants of a medieval manor and track, World War 2 camps and a variety of intriguing sculptures.
