Frequently Asked Questions

How can I make a booking?

Scheduled Courses - Follow the booking instructions listed for each specific course.

Bespoke Courses - Contact us to discuss your individual requirements. Any queries will be answered within three days. We will design a suitable experience with you and your group to meet your needs. We will then draw up a contract outlining the programme, responsibilities of all parties and expected outcomes.

What do I need to wear?

You will need to wear clothing suitable to the season. Layers are advisable so that you can adjust your temperature as your activity and the weather changes. Fleece, Gore-tex and other man-made fabrics are at risk of burns from sparks. Wool and natural materials are a good choice.

Walking boots or stout trainers are recommended as it can be uneven underfoot.

Please bring a waterproof coat to all events – we do not cancel courses due to rain.

What do I need to bring?

In general, for a day course, you will need to bring waterproofs and a packed lunch in a small rucksack. You may wish to bring a notebook and camera to record the events of the day.

Any additional equipment or materials will be provided. You should not bring any tools or knives unless specifically authorised prior to the event.

How fit do I need to be?

You need to be reasonably fit and able to walk comfortably over uneven terrain. We will do our best to accommodate specific needs within the scope of the programme.

Do I need previous knowledge or experience?

No previous knowledge or experience is needed for most day courses. Any specific reading material or research for training courses will be sent out with precourse information prior to the start of the course.
